Rush seem to always have followed the trends. Perhaps news took a while to reach their homes in Canada or maybe rush perfected the sound of the influences they drew from, but first blues-rock, the progressive, on to synthesizer-infused New Wave and most recently the alternative rock scene. Rush has recorded 23 gold records and 14 platinum ones of this impressive music, if lacking on originality.
